2020 Spring Symposium Recap

Updated: Aug 20, 2020

Despite the shelter-in-place during the COVID-19 pandemic, the CDMI successfully held its Spring Symposium virtually via Zoom in June 2020. Nearly one hundred guests were in attendance from around the globe - including research faculty, clinicians, students, and industry executives from various organizations. Lively discussion throughout the half-day symposium centered around the CDMI’s accomplishments to date, updating the research roadmap as Phase II begins, and discussing how sites can respond to COVID-19 issues related to recruitment and return-to-work. Additional sessions featured past and current project updates from various faculty at each site (UC San Francisco, University of Toledo, The Ohio State University, and Northeastern University) on topics ranging from musculoskeletal disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery; to musculoskeletal biology; and device testing. The Industry Advisory Board Chair (Dr. Jeremy Rawlinson) wrapped up the day with a roundtable discussion of opportunities for research collaboration, new member recruitment, hot topics for potential Phase II projects, and leveraging existing CDMI resources. The CDMI 2020 Fall Symposium will take place on October 1-2, 2020 (time and location TBD). Details will be posted on the Symposium page once confirmed.
